Product Care Instructions

Teton

The TETON reel is a precision unit.  As such it requires some preventive maintenance.  When used in salt water it is necessary to rinse it thoroughly in fresh water after each use.  The only other requirements are an occasional drop of light oil on the spool bushing and releasing the brake tension when not in use.

Trinity

Trinity reels are manufactured to exacting tolerances and as such should be treated with reasonable care. When used for salt water fishing they should be rinsed in warm fresh water after each use to prevent the buildup of salt within the reel. An occasional drop of light oil applied occasionally to the main shaft is the only other care required except for an occasional general cleaning.

To remove the spool

Depress the lever protruding from the cap on the outside of the spool and pull outward. The small and large arbor spools are interchangeable.

To reverse from right to left hand retrieve

  1. Remove the spool.
  2. Loosen retainer screw on leaf spring.
  3. Swing spring to opposite side of "V" groove.
  4. Re-tighten retainer screw.
  5. Replace spool and turn reel around on rod.
NOTE The line will need to be re-wound onto reel as it will now wind in the opposite direction.

No further adjustments are necessary as the stripping tension is pre-set at the factory.

The sealed brake system requires no maintenance and is designed to run dry.
